About This Role:

The Project Consulting Manager works with sales, research analysts, consultants, and other data insights team members to help qualify, scope, sell, manage, and deliver custom data engagements for Forrester's clients. The Project Consulting Manager works primarily with the data insights team in partnership with Forrester's research analysts, consultants, and data specialists to help clients meet their key business objectives through custom consulting engagements. As a part of that work, the Project Consulting Manager also supports the sale of these consulting engagements in partnership with sales as a solution architect for their team.

Responsibilities

Partner with sales to close new custom data opportunities. This includes:

  • Leading sales calls and presentations for new and existing clients on custom data capabilities and methodologies.
  1. Qualifying potential consulting opportunities.
  2. Collaborating with client executives to diagnose their strategic and tactical business challenges.
  3. Architecting creative project methodologies and prescribing Forrester’s quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to help them address their challenges.
  4. Developing project pricing and timelines.
  5. Authoring well-structured and compelling proposals that meet each client’s unique needs.
  6. Partnering with sales and research to present proposals to prospective clients during teleconferences or onsite meetings.
  7. Supporting sales’ efforts in the client decision process.
  8. Championing Forrester’s consulting and custom data capabilities for internal sales teams and external clients.
  • Act as project manager, partnering with research analysts, consultants, and data specialists to deliver on all aspects of multifaceted consulting projects. This includes:
  1. Defining the statement of work for the project.
  2. Developing project plans, identifying appropriate methodologies, setting milestones, and scheduling client and research meetings.
  3. Creating agendas for strategic interactions.
  4. Coordinating internal and external resources to ensure project delivery.
  5. Managing project expenses and revenue.
  6. Managing client satisfaction and overall project quality.
  • Promote and support the custom data insights offerings. This includes:
  1. Educating the sales channel on data-supported consulting content, capabilities, and how to identify potential opportunities.
  2. Collaborating with analysts, consultants, and data specialists to define, develop, and promote repeatable consulting offerings.
  3. Influencing new research content based on feedback from clients.
  4. Developing and maintaining project management and consulting delivery expertise in close collaboration with the broader Forrester Consulting organization.
  5. Consistently achieve financial and operational targets. This includes:
  6. Achieving revenue targets on a quarterly basis.
  7. Supporting sales bookings for custom data engagements.
  8. Partnering with research directors, analysts, and other consultants to achieve group revenue targets.

Qualifications

  • A B.A./B.S. with a strong academic record; an MBA is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of management consulting experience delivering and/or selling consulting/professional services projects to senior marketing and strategy executives.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities, including experience with statistical methods and strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • A successful track record of partnering with sales or business development to drive new or incremental sales of consulting or professional services.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with others in high-pressure situations to meet the needs of the client.
  • The ability to collaborate with sales and delivery organizations to creatively architect consulting solutions that meet the needs of the client, including structuring methodologies and writing winning proposals.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Works with a high degree of intensity, follow-through, and collegiality.
  • The ability to travel 15% to 20% of the time.
